Original Anime Movie ‘The Ribbon Hero’ Announced for August 2026

Netflix Japan announced an original anime movie titled The Ribbon Hero on Thursday, revealing the main staff, and a teaser visual (pictured). The anime movie based on Osamu Tezuka’s Ribbon no Kishi manga will premiere worldwide exclusively on Netflix in August 2026.

Tezuka serialized the adventure fantasy manga in Shoujo Club magazine from January 1953 to January 1956. Kodansha published the third and final volume in June 1958.

Produced by Mushi Production, a television adaptation of the manga aired in 52 episodes from Spring 1967 to Spring 1968.
