Satoshi initially launched the manga in MiraCoro Comic magazine in January 2020, where it was voted the most popular entry of the issue. After a short pilot run in Monthly CoroCoro Comic starting in April 2020, the series began its full serialization in the same magazine in October 2020. Shogakukan released the 13th volume on December 26 last year, with the 14th volume going on sale on April 28. The manga will move from Monthly CoroCoro Comic to Weekly CoroCoro Comic, with serialization beginning on May 17.
A spin-off manga, titled Black Channel: Breaking the Wall, was also serialized in Monthly CoroCoro Comic from June to August 2022.
Shin Sukitake launched a light novel adaptation under the Shogakukan Junior Bunko imprint in January 2023, featuring illustrations by Kisaichi. The fourth volume was released on February 20.
An official YouTube channel featuring original net animations (ONA) launched in August 2020. The series also held a collaboration with the theatrical film Case Closed: The Scarlet Bullet in April 2021. A short-form anime adaptation of the Breaking the Wall spin-off was released between August 2022 and September 2022.
