‘Hon nara Uru hodo’ Wins Manga Taisho Award for 2026

The award list for the 19th edition of Manga Taisho, an annual Japanese manga award, has been announced. The award is voted on by a panel of bookstore clerks throughout Japan, who select the best series from a list of titles that have less than eight compiled volumes released and at least one volume released in the previous year.

*6. 50 pts Kaijuu wo Kaibou suru [Sci-Fi] by Mado Saitou

*7. 48 pts Robou no Fujii [Slice of Life] by Kurao Nabe

*8. 39 pts San-kyuu Pitch [Sports] by Kyuu Sumiyoshi

*9. 36 pts Riot [Slice of Life] by Yuuta Tsukada

10. 33 pts Madan no Ichi [Fantasy] by Osamu Nishi and Shiro Usazaki

11. 30 pts Hitokui Mansion to Ooya no Maison [Fantasy, Mystery, Sci-Fi] by Kuu Tanaka and Akima

12. 27 pts Imouto wa Shitteiru [Comedy] by Mari Gangi

The first round of voting selects the final nominees out of 249 titles that were eligible for this year’s award, while the second round decides the final ranking.
