‘Sekiro: No Defeat’ Unveils Additional Cast, Theme Song, First Promo

Crunchyroll’s Sekiro: No Defeat panel at the South by Southwest festival revealed additional cast, the theme song, and a promotional video on Monday. The anime series adapting FromSoftware’s action adventure video game is scheduled for a 2026 premiere, with a theatrical version planned for release in Japan.

Busshi: Jin Urayama (Summertime Render)

Emma: Shizuka Itou (Himesama “Goumon” no Jikan desu)

Hanbei: Akimitsu Takase (Shaman King)

Fukurou: Takaya Hashi (Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken)

Isshin Ashina: Tetsuo Kanao (Yuu☆Yuu☆Hakusho)

Late music composer Ryuichi Sakamoto’s “Blu” will be used as the anime’s theme song.

Kenichi Kutsuna (Koneko no Chi: Ponponra Daibouken assistant director) is helming the anime at Qzil.la. Takuya Satou (Urasekai Picnic) is penning the script and Takahiro Kishida (Haikyuu!!) is designing the characters. Shuta Hasunuma (7Fates: Chakho) is composing the music.

Published and developed by FromSoftware, with publishing by Activision outside of Japan, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice was released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows in March 2019, followed by a Stadia release in October 2020.
