Cheering the sad woman up with a bouquet in Mina the Hollower is one of the first side quests you can come across, and while it’s also one you can complete early, the process isn’t exactly straightforward. It’ll take some creative shepherding of NPCs and a bit of burrowing to chase the sadness away, but it’s worth taking a few minutes to make it happen. Your reward is an excellent trinket that can be a literal lifesaver in hectic battles.
Below, we explain where to find a bouquet in Mina the Hollower and how to get it to Roma, the sad and lonely woman.
Where to find a bouquet in Mina the Hollower
Roma, the woman crying on the bench by the river in eastern Ossex, wants some flowers, and you might’ve noticed a pot of flowers on the rooftop of the kear enthusiast’s house. It’s free for the taking, but there’s no direct path to that rooftop.
You’ll need to make one using the nose of an NPC named Furl. They’re a purple fella with a mask covering their face, and they can be found above and to the right of the garment shop in eastern Ossex. If this is the first time you’ve found them, make sure to stand to the right of them and then hit them. This will reveal that they actually have a coiled nose, and they’ll launch it out to the building to the left. Hop onto their nose bridge and cross over to the left, where you’ll find the flower pot.
If you’ve accidentally (or purposefully hit them), they’ll wander around a little, so you’ll need to wait until they’re standing just above the chair and table and hit them.
When you’ve made it onto the rooftop, burrow into the ground and position yourself under the flower pot. Mina will grab it when she pops back above ground. Then, walk to the bottom edge of the roof, and drop down. Mina will still be holding the pot.
Your next task is getting Furl to the right spot — the grassy area on the other side of the river from Roma. If you’ve never been here, you will need a kear to unlock the area. He sometimes walks there of his own free will, but you can guide him in the direction by walking into him and pushing him that way. Get him to the water’s edge, as you can see in the image below.
Throw the pot at Furl. It’ll break, but he catches the flowers and vows to follow his heart. Furl uses his nose to give Roma her flowers, and she’ll pop over to your side of the river. If Furl isn’t at the edge, make sure to push him over and interact with him again. Once the two are together, you’ll get the Valor Medallion trinket.
This trinket lets you move while you’re using a Plasma Vial to heal, and you won’t lose plasma if you take damage.
