Fumihiro Yoshimura (Boku no Tsuma wa Kanjou ga Nai) is directing the anime at Tezuka Productions, with Takashi Aoshima (Kimi no Koto ga Daidaidaidaidaisuki na 100-nin no Kanojo) handling the series composition. Daisuke Okushima (Megami no Café Terrace chief animation director) is designing the characters. Shun Narita (Kizetsu Yuusha to Ansatsu Hime) is composing the music.
Sawatari originally began penning the romantic comedy series on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website under the title Shiotaiou no Satou-san, Kono Mae Nanpa kara Tasukete kara nanka Ore ni dake Mechakucha Amakunai? in June 2019. Shogakukan began publishing a revised version of the novel under its Gagaga Bunko imprint with illustrations by Atiki in December 2019. The 12th volume was released on March 18.
Kaya Tetsuyama began drawing a manga adaptation on the MangaONE platform in May 2020. Shogakukan published the tenth volume on March 18.
Comikey began publishing the series in English on May 29.
