How to get more mana in Vampire Crawlers

by Awais

In Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard from Vampire Survivors, mana is an incredibly important resource, as most cards in the game come with a mana cost. If you start a new dungeon run, you likely get no more than three mana per round, which isn’t much. If you’d like to play more cards, as well as cards of a higher value, boosting mana is the way to go.

Here’s how to expand your mana in Vampire Crawlers.

How to increase your mana pool in Vampire Crawlers

Here’s how mana works in Vampire Crawlers: Every card has a mana cost displayed in the top left corner, and you have a mana pool that resets every round during battle (which means it replenishes once you’ve played the last card in your hand).

So, if the cards you’re currently holding cost 2 and 3 mana respectively, as shown in the picture below, you would need a pool of 5 mana to play them both. In this example, however, the player has 3 mana, which means they can only play one card.

As Vampire Crawlers is all about making long combos, thereby playing a high number of cards from the same hand, it’s important to upgrade the mana pool. As a new player, the only way to upgrade your mana is to break objects and be lucky enough to find a mana orb inside. The large, grey, shiny stone slabs often contain mana orbs, so keep an eye out for them:

Once you’ve found two mana orbs, you will unlock Tome cards (the ones with a book image). On your next dungeon run, you will have a chance to draw such a card. Depending on their rarity, they can increase your mana pool by 1 to 4 mana. Note that this is their default effect; if you use them as part of a combo, they can add far more than that.

Here’s a list of all Tome cards:

  • Empty Tome: Costs 0 mana, recovers 1 mana.
  • Light Tome: Costs 1 mana, recovers 2 mana.
  • Weighty Tome: Costs 2 mana, recovers 3 mana.
  • Ancient Tome: Costs 3 mana, recovers 4 mana.

Another way to boost your mana pool is by using Crawlers with a mana-replenishing ability, such as Arca, who adds one mana whenever a purple card is played.
