Plus a roguelike twist on chess
The Epic Games Store is offering two free PC games this week for Epic users. For a limited time, you can grab a chaotic Warhammer 40,000 multiplayer game and a roguelike spin on chess for free.
Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks
Warhammer 40,000 fans have no shortage of great video games to check out, like Gladius — Relics of War and Darktide. Those who want a Warhammer take on Twisted Metal will want to give Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks a spin. It’s a combat racing game where you race in eight-player lobbies and destroy your opponents on the way to the finish line. Vehicles include buggies, tanks, and helicopters, and they all have a variety of cosmetics and weapons to try out. You can also create your own custom tracks and challenges, and download creations from the Speed Freeks community.
The Ouroboros King
Epic’s other free game couldn’t be more different: The Ouroboros King is a roguelike take on chess. You’ll collect classic chess pieces and new pieces unique to the game as you build your ultimate chess army. The Ouroboros King is approachable but will take time to master (just like real-life chess), and endgame difficulty modifiers can really test your mettle.
If Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks or The Ouroboros King catch your eye, all you need to do is log in to the Epic Games Store and claim them. The games will be free until Thursday, June 18 at 11 a.m. EDT.

PC gamers can get 3 classic Tomb Raider titles and 14 more games for free from Amazon this month
And more can now be streamed, like Hollow Knight
