90s classic Donkey Kong 64 is finally coming to Nintendo Switch Online. It will be available for all those Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers from next month, on 4th June.
This is one game many had hoped to see added to the Switch’s classic N64 collection of games, so its upcoming arrival is very welcome news. I am definitely going to get my kids to give it a whirl when the time comes next month (even though they were shockingly underappreciative when I tried to show them Super Mario 64. Personally, I blame their father for that one).
“Cross isles with the Kongs as they face King K. Rool,” reads the official blurb for Donkey Kong 64. “With his mechanical isle stuck off the shores of DK Island, K. Rool kidnaps the Kong family to distract Donkey Kong. It’s up to our furry hero to rescue his friends, reclaim his Golden Bananas, and save his homeland from certain doom.”
Players will be able to choose from five Kong members, and play either solo or with friends in competitive battle arenas via four-player split-screen view. “There’s enough fun to go around to make you go bananas,” Nintendo promises.
O-KAYYYYYYY!!!!! It’s so weird hearing my voice at the end …. Haha …. DON-KEY-KONG! https://t.co/TlBHMRhyT0

Donkey Kong 64 will join several other Nintendo 64 classics already on the service, including The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, GoldenEye 007, PilotWings 64 (which was announced along with a rather sensual trailer) and Yoshi’s Story, to name just a few.
