‘The Ribbon Hero’ Unveils Additional Cast, Theme Song, Second Trailer

The official website of the The Ribbon Hero original anime movie revealed additional cast and a second trailer on Tuesday. The anime movie based on Osamu Tezuka’s Ribbon no Kishi (Princess Knight) manga will debut worldwide exclusively on Netflix on August 8.

Cast

Pine: Seiran Kobayashi (Boku no Hero Academia 4th Season)

Velvet: Kouki Uchiyama (Soul Eater)

Zirco: Mayumi Shintani (FLCL)

Japanese-Korean group Girls Archives. is performing the opening theme “Reborn,” previewed in the trailer below.

Yuuki Igarashi (Star Wars: Visions) is directing the anime at Outline. Issei Arakaki (Vlad Love) is adapting the original character design by Kei Mochizuki.

Tezuka serialized the adventure fantasy manga in Shoujo Club magazine from January 1953 to January 1956. Kodansha published the third and final volume in June 1958.

Mushi Production adapted the manga into a television anime that aired in 52 episodes from Spring 1967 to Spring 1968.
