Sony Pictures at CinemaCon 2026: Everything Revealed (Updating Live!)

by Awais

Sony Pictures is back at CinemaCon in 2026, and we’re expecting the studio to reveal some exciting sneak peeks at its upcoming films, including Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Resident Evil, and more.

While the presentation isn’t being streamed, IGN will be in attendance and we’ll cover all the big news and reveals as they happen! So, be sure to keep checking back to learn a bit more about many very anticipated projects!

Spider-Man: Brand New Day Gets a New Clip and Two New Posters

Spider-Man: Brand New Day was the first big reveal of Sony Pictures Entertainment’s CinemaCon presentation, and we were treated to two new posters and a clip that shows more of how people forgot they ever knew Peter Parker, thanks to the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The clip starts in a coffee shop and sees Peter listening to Ned placing an order, and he tells someone on the phone that he will call them right back. Ned leaves, and he follows him out. Turns out Ned was going to a party and brought some drinks, and Peter walks in and tries to blend in.

Peter is walking around uncomfortably with a cup, and he walks into a room and finds a little figure of Spider-Man. He sees articles on the wall of Spidey and other things, and it’s revealed this is Ned’s room.

We also learn that Ned knows Spider-Man saved him and his friends a few times during high school and, ever since then, he’s been trying to find out who he is. He doesn’t want to tell the world his identity, he just wants to thank him. And to do so, he’s created an app called “Spider-Tracker.”

We learn Ned knows Spider-Man is from Queens and that he has two prime suspects of who he could be – Flash Thompson and Martin Starr’s Roger Harrington.

MJ walks in as she is complaining about how crowded the party is, and she notices Peter standing there with some flowers he bought. She says, “nice flowers,” and he responds by saying thanks and introducing himself as Maynard.

Ned is confused as to why this Maynard is here, and he says he is a neighbor, to which MJ responds, “Friendly neighbor!”

Ned then follows MJ and they talk about a job she got but turned down, saying she doesn’t want to work for a soulless corporation. She also says “something tells me I should be waiting for something great.”

MJ’s boyfriend, who is played by Ahsoka’s Eman Esfandi (Ezra!), walks in and says “The wait is over!” He follows up with, “you can’t save everyone,” to which MJ says, “I can try,” and then they kiss. Peter is NOT happy.

We then got a quick sizzle reel of Spidey leaping off a building and other stuff we previously saw in the trailer. Oh, and some footage of Damage Control guys pointing guns on Spidey. He says, “Gimmie a sec” and “I’m not in High School anymore!” and he flips and swings around and takes them all down.

Sony also reiterated that Spider-Man: No Way Home was its biggest movie ever, and it reminded the world how the first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day was the single most-watched trailer ever with over one billion views in less than one week. Speaking of which, you can check that trailer out below for the film that will arrive in theaters on July 31, 2026.

Director Zach Cregger Teases the Horrors to Come in Resident Evil With a New Clip

Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil showed up at CinemaCon, and the director had a few words to share about the upcoming film alongside revealing a small look at the horrors to come. He began by saying that he has “put an embarassing number of hours into playing these games” and the the franchise is “absolutely the gold standard of survival horror.”

He then emphasized that the film will feature the pacing and atmosphere of the games, but it wouldn’t have narrative gymnastics like in Weapons or Barbarian.

As for the clip, we see a man walking towards a house in the snow. Turns out his car has broken down and he needs to use a phone, but the residents aren’t home. He goes in an tries to use it, and finally gets it to work and says, “I’m sorry we got disconnected, I’m in a seriously f***** situation right now.”

He then sees a giant guy who resembles Dune’s Baron Vladimir Harkonnen in a dark tunnel, and we get shots of him running through the snow in a town. Lastly, he leaves a voicemail to his girlfriend, saying “I just wanted to let you know I love you,” and that he might not get out of this alive.

Resident Evil will be released in theaters on September 18, 2026.

When Is Sony Pictures Entertainment’s CinemaCon Presentation?

Sony Pictures Entertainment’s CinemaCon presentation will kick off on Monday, April 13, at 6:30pm PT / 9:30pm ET and it set to run until roughly 8:45pm PT / 11:45pm ET.

What to Expect From Sony Pictures Entertainment’s CinemaCon Presentation?

While we don’t know exactly what will be shown during Sony Pictures Entertainment’s CinemaCon presentation, we can look at their upcoming films to get a pretty good idea of what may be ready for the spotlight.

The big ticket item tonight just may be Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which will swing into theaters on July 31, 2026. Other films that very well may show up are Resident Evil (September 18, 2026), The Social Reckoning (October 9, 2026), and the currently untitled sequel to Jumanji: The Next Level (December 25, 2026).

If we move into 2027, there is a chance The Legend of Zelda movie may show up. It would be a big surprise as we still know very little about this film, but it would be a most welcome one. We also know other such films are on the horizon as Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, Helldivers, Buds, and The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event.

Whatever shows up, we’ll be there covering it, and you don’t have to wait long as the show is about to begin!
