Publishing company Kodansha announced a television anime adaptation of Shin Kibayashi and Rima Amamiya’s Gifted manga on Thursday, revealing an announcement visual (pictured above). The anime series will premiere in 2027.
Kibayashi and Amamiya began serializing the detective shoujo manga in the Nakayoshi magazine in December 2021. Kodansha published the 11th volume on January 13, with the 12th volume scheduled to be released on June 12.
The series previously received a live-action television drama adaptation, which broadcast on Tokai TV and Fuji TV from August to September 2023. The second season aired on WOWOW Prime and WOWOW on Demand from October to December 2023.
Synopsis
Natsuki Amakusa is a talented young detective with the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. One day, he meets Yuuya Shiki, a high school student with a mysterious ability to see “marks” on murderers.
After Yuuya helps solve a complex murder case, Natsuki decides to recruit him. The two team up as partners to investigate various criminal cases while working to uncover the mystery behind Yuuya’s hidden power.
