Hellraiser: Revival hooks a release date with trailer full of Doom-like glory kills and otherworldly powers

Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival was announced a year ago, and developer diaries have fed us scraps of information since, but we’ve been lacking a release date until now. Hellraiser: Revival launches on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on 8th October, 2026.

The date came from a gruesome new trailer on the game’s official website and YouTube, which does a better job than other previews of showing off how the game actually plays.

From the ability to invoke the Cenobites’ hooks – the iconic extra-dimensional beings from the movies and the original novella – to using pyrokinesis, the combat loop goes well beyond simply shooting at and smacking demonic horrors until they’re, um, dead again. The Genesis Configuration box used by the protagonist – which is different from the Lament cube that invokes the Cenobites in the films – can also be used to help with puzzles, so there’s at least a promise of more varied gameplay.

The game, which has been described as sexually explicit, violent, and gory, will be available in two different editions: Standard ($39.99) and Deluxe ($49.99). Regional pricing hasn’t been revealed at the time of writing, but Hellraiser: Revival is targeting a lower price point than other high-profile releases, which could help its case in the run-up to a Halloween season that’s looking increasingly busy as GTA 6’s November launch looms.

There’s also mention of two different Collector’s Editions coming on the official website, but details on their contents aren’t available yet.

Described as a first-person survival horror game, Hellraiser: Revival is an original story which follows Aidan, a regular guy who must use the Genesis Configuration after coming in contact with the Cenobites to help his girlfriend escape from the Labyrinth dimension. The game has been described as a messed-up “love story” in the past, though I’d be surprised if it has a happy ending.
