There are a lot of really cool LEGO sets for adults these days, but none are more practical than the brand’s Botanical theme. LEGO bricks lend themselves surprisingly well to the creation of realistic looking flowers while still being unique and interesting. If you’re interested in buying some fake flowers to display in your house, why not have some fun building them while you’re at it?
Mother’s Day is still a few weeks away, but Amazon has recently dropped the price of the LEGO Pretty Pink Flower Display to a new online low for those looking for gift ideas. At $47.99, this bouquet is still more expensive than a real flower bouquet you can pick up at the store right now, but unlike real flowers, they will never wither and die.
LEGO Pretty Pink Flower Bouquet Sale at Amazon
The Pretty Pink Flower Bouquet is made up of 749 total pieces, which are all fairly small. To put the set together you’ll need to build the stems, attached leaves, and the intricate flowers themselves with individual pieces. With a lot of delicate details involved, the set is categorized as an 18+ adult build. The bouquet itself is divided into six bags with an additional bag containing the long rods used to make the stems. Each bag corresponds to a different set of flowers within the bouquet, so you can slowly organize the arrangement in a vase while you go.
IGN had the chance to build this particular set when it first came out and you can check out the full details of the process in the slideshow above. Our LEGO expert Kevin Wong praised the set for including “building techniques I had never used before,” while also pointing out that this is purely a display set and “is for looking at, and you look with your eyes, not with your hands.”
It’s clear that these types of LEGO sets are meant to be gifts, but as IGN’s Commerce Manager Eric Song pointed out, they aren’t necessarily for everyone, saying: “This is only a good gift if your mom doesn’t mind building it, otherwise you’d have to build it for her. My kids and I buy these for my wife but we build them and arrange them in a flower vase”.
While you may not be thinking about Mother’s Day gifts this early, this early Amazon discount makes it worth a look. If you buy now you should have plenty of time to actually build the bouquet before Mother’s Day arrives. A flower vase is not included, so you will need to find or purchase one separately.
More LEGO Flower Sets
If you like the idea of LEGO flowers but don’t particularly like the flowers included in the Pretty Pink Bouquet, the good news is that there are plenty of other options available. Some users have even found a way to turn the Bonsai tree into the Great Deku Tree from Legend of Zelda, so you may even want to go that route.
