Crunchyroll finally confirms Chainsaw Man Reze Arc release date

Crunchyroll is celebrating “Ani-May” in the best way possible: by finally releasing Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc on the anime streaming platform.

An official blog post published Thursday confirms that the movie will be released next week on April 30 in both sub and dub formats. For anyone who saw the subtitled version in theaters last year, this might be your first opportunity to experience the English-language dubs. Crunchyroll first announced back in February that the movie would be available to stream sometime this spring, but this feels a lot earlier than expected.

Reze Arc adapts one of the manga’s most beloved — and emotionally devastating — storylines centered around the enigmatic Bomb Devil and Denji’s desperate, chaotic love life. The story takes place not long after the events of Chainsaw Man season 1 and strikes a surprisingly romantic tone for such a hyperviolent anime. “In a brutal war between devils, hunters, and secret enemies, a mysterious girl named Reze has stepped into his world, and Denji faces his deadliest battle yet, fueled by love in a world where survival knows no rules,” reads a portion of the movie’s official description.

If you were a fan of season 1 but haven’t seen Reze Arc yet, get ready for Chainsaw Man revving at full throttle with bigger stakes, both narratively and emotionally, and a grander spectacle in terms of the action.

Reze Arc’s release kicks off the monthlong global Ani-May celebration said to include experiences across screens, games, and the real-world. “This year, Ani-May goes beyond watching,” reads an official release about Ani-May 2026. “It’s about living anime — transforming May into an inescapable cultural moment where fans everywhere can discover new series, unlock rewards, shop exclusive drops, and connect with the community like never before. Expect moments across fan-favorite franchises including Jujutsu Kaisen, Hell’s Paradise, My Hero Academia, Black Clover, Solo Leveling, and Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End.”

Chainsaw Man season 2 was announced at Jump Festa 2026 in December of last year with a teaser trailer and poster, but there’s no confirmed release date yet.
