Steam’s newest sale period, the Steam Medieval Fest, is going on now, offering discounts on games with medieval themes. One of the games on sale is Kingdom Come: Deliverance, and its developer, Warhorse, has announced a donation campaign to support the restoration of a Bohemian castle.
The Steam Medieval Fest runs through April 27, and during that time, Warhorse will donate $1 from each sale to support the reconstruction of the Pirkštejn castle.
The Pirkštejn castle was featured in the original Kingdom Come and served as your character’s home in the city of Rattay.
“If you’ve not played yet, or know someone who hasn’t, now is the time. Grab it in the sale and help preserve a piece of real history!” the developer said.
Specifically, the castle’s bell tower–one of its most striking features–is being reconstructed. The organizers received an EU government grant to kick off the work in May 2025, but CZK 2.5 million ($121,000) more is needed, hence the donation campaign.
The castle’s official tourism website calls out how gamers may recognize it from Kingdom Come: Deliverance. The castle’s website also provides instructions for how people can go on a walking tour to see some of the scenes in the area that inspired locations in Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Today, it is owned by the church and is only occasionally open to the public.
The Kingdom Come series bills itself as aiming for historical accuracy. Recently, the director of the game’s sequel said the game did gay romance “right” by not going “woke.”

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is discounted to $6 during the Steam Medieval Fest, with its sequel, Deliverance II, knocked down to $30 during the sale. Some of the other games on sale during the Steam Medieval Fest include Dark Souls III ($30), The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt ($8), Crusader Kings III ($15), Oblivion Remastered ($40), and Dragon’s Dogma 2 ($29.40).
The Steam Medieval Fest is the platform’s 11th themed sale period so far in 2026. Next up after the Medieval Fest will be the Deckbuilders Fest and Ocean Fest sales in May.
