‘Ibitte Konai Gibo to Gishi’ Reveals Additional Cast, Theme Songs, First Promo

The official website for the television anime adaptation of Otsuji’s Ibitte Konai Gibo to Gishi (My Stepmother and Stepsisters Aren’t Wicked) manga revealed three additional cast members, the theme songs, and first promotional video on Friday. The anime series is scheduled to premiere on July 8 at 11:30 p.m. on Television Kanagawa, TeleTama, and Chiba TV, followed by MBS, Tokyo MX, and BS Asahi.

Yaeko Kounokura: Miyari Nemoto (Ruri no Houseki)

Nago: Yumi Uchiyama (Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei)

Mitsuya: M・A・O (Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken)

Singer-songwriter Lia (Angel Beats!) is performing the opening theme “Amayadori no Shoukei.” Idol group AVAM (Akujiki Reijou to Kyouketsu Koushaku) is performing the ending theme “Claire.” Both theme songs are previewed in the promotional video below.

Keisuke Inoue (Otome Game no Hametsu Flag shika Nai Akuyaku Reijou ni Tensei shiteshimatta…) is directing the anime at NEWON, with Nanami Hoshino (Saikin Yatotta Maid ga Ayashii script) handling the series composition. Mutsumi Sasaki (Yuru Camp△) is designing the characters. Rina Tayama (Silent Witch) is composing the music.

Otsuji began drawing the historical slice of life manga on their X (formerly Twitter) account in September 2020 before beginning regular serialization on the Comic POOL web magazine in November 2020. Ichijinsha published the ninth volume on February 26.

Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga in English in October 2022. The eighth volume shipped on June 23.
