While EVO is more widely known, Combo Breaker is still one of the biggest fighting game tournaments in North America each year. This year, tournaments for games like Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, Invincible Vs, and more took place, and fighting game developers also used it as a stage to make new announcements.
This year’s biggest announcement was that Yujiro Hanma from Baki is an upcoming guest fighter for Tekken 8. There were also new roster-related reveals for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, and 2XKO. If you want to know all the fighting game announcements that happened at Combo Breaker 2026, we’ve rounded it all up in one place.
Yujiro Hanma from Baki comes to Tekken 8 next year
The biggest reveal at Combo Breaker was that Yujiro Hanma, the antagonist of the Netflix anime Baki, will be Tekken 8 season 3’s guest fighter. He feels like a shockingly good fit for the Tekken franchise, not only because of his abilities as a fighter, but because Baki’s father–son drama and dynamics are reminiscent of the familial conflicts in Tekken.
Yujiro Hanma’s announcement trailer does not contain any gameplay, as the character will not be added to Tekken 8 until sometime in “early 2027.” Fighters Kunimitsu, Bob, and Roger Jr., plus the Subsea Lockdown stage and Aurora Outfit Pack, are also part of Tekken 8′s Season 3 Pass.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves reveals Mr. Karate
SNK put out a gameplay trailer for Mr. Karate, the next season 2 fighter coming to Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves on May 27. Mr. Karate first appeared as the final boss of Art of Fighting in 1992, although it’s technically a mantle that multiple characters have claimed. In the case of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, Mr. Karate appears to be Robert Garcia, a character from Art of Fighting and The King of Fighters series.
Azula is in Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game
Maniacal Fire Nation princess Azula is part of the roster of Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, and a trailer showcasing her fire and lightning-bending abilities was released this weekend. Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game launches on July 2, and I’m definitely want to play as Azula after watching this trailer.
2XKO’s next fighter is revealed
Riot Games confirmed that League of Legends champion Senna will be the next fighter added to 2XKO. A gameplay trailer will be released on June 2, before she’s added to the game on June 9.
