Singer-songwriter tuki (Sakura Kimi Watashi theme song performance) is performing the opening theme “Rei-zero-.” Ai Higuchi (Shingeki no Kyojin: The Final Season Part 2) is performing the ending theme “Ima Kono Mune ni Tagiru no Wa.” Both theme songs are previewed in the promotional video below.
Munehisa Sakai (Zombieland Saga) is directing the anime at Studio KAI, with assistant director Takeshi Iwata (The iDOLM@STER Shiny Colors). Shigeru Murakoshi (Ninja Kamui) is handling the series composition and Toshiya Kouno (Himesama “Goumon” no Jikan desu) is designing the characters. Tatsuya Katou (Trigun Stampede), Hiroaki Tsutsumi (Kuromukuro), and Yuki Kanesaka (Koukaku Kidoutai (TV)) are composing the music.
Tsujitsugu began serializing the adventure sci-fi manga in Gekkan! Spirits in January 2021. Shogakukan published the tenth volume in December 2025.
VIZ Media licensed the manga for English release in June 2023 and published the eighth volume on February 17.
