The television broadcast of the 12th and final episode of Hanazakari no Kimitachi e (Hana-Kimi) ended with a second season announcement on Sunday.
The first season, produced by Signal.MD began airing on January 4. Crunchyroll simulcasted the anime with subtitles in multiple languages.
The anime adapts Hisaya Nakajo’s romantic comedy manga, which ran in Hana to Yume from August 1996 to August 2004. Hakusensha published the 23rd and final volume in November that year. The magazine also published a one-shot sequel in the same month.
VIZ Media licensed the manga in English and released the volumes between September 2004 and April 2008 before re-releasing them in 3-in-1 omnibus editions from March 2012 to April 2014.
