Mitsue Yamazaki (Maoujou de Oyasumi) is directing the anime at Doga Kobo. Yoshiko Nakamura (Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun) is handling the series composition, while Ai Kikuchi (Kawaii dake ja Nai Shikimori-san) is designing the characters.
Nakamura originally began the fantasy romance novel on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in July 2020. Ichijinsha began printing the series under its Ichijinsha Novels imprint in December that year, featuring illustrations by Kana Yuki (number24). The 11th volume went on sale in September 2025.
Comic ZERO-SUM began serializing a manga adaptation by Ei Ohitsuji in December 2020. Ichijinsha published the ninth volume in September 2025.
Seven Seas Entertainment licensed both the light novel and manga in English in March 2023. The ninth novel volume shipped in August 2025, with the tenth volume scheduled to be released on March 5. The eighth manga volume was released in December 2025, with the ninth volume planned for an August 4 release.
