Brand New Day Lego set leak doesn’t have any answers about Sadie Sink’s character

The set offers plenty of villains plus a hot dog vendor

While the first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day revealed many of the villains Peter Parker (Tom Holland) will face in the new film, the reference to an unseen foe only sparked more speculation about who Stranger Things star Sadie Sink is playing. Tie-in toys can sometimes confirm characters and plot points, but a leaked Lego set shared on Reddit doesn’t offer any answers, though it seems like it could be bad news for Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo).

The images show Spider-Man battling numerous villains at a Department of Damage Control facility, including Boomerang, Tarantula, and Scorpion. Some fans think Sink is playing Marvel’s most famous redhead and X-Men founding member Jean Grey, especially since the trailer seems to show a psychic entity jumping between DODC agents after Spidey frees a woman from a containment cell. The chaos going on at the facility depicted in the Lego set may involve this psychic, but it doesn’t include a figure that looks like Sink. Instead, there’s a woman selling hot dogs who gets caught up in the chaos. Maybe she’ll get possessed!

The set also involves a version of the Hulk who is looking pretty mad. That seems like bad news for Banner, who had been in control of his alter-ego since Avengers: Endgame, when he said he’d figured out how to get the best of both worlds by combining Bruce’s smarts and the Hulk’s incredible strength. It’s possible that the Lego designers just wanted to stick with a classic Hulk look. A rogue psychic might also weaponize the Hulk in the same way Wanda Maximoff did in Avengers: Age of Ultron. That would be a pretty big problem for Spidey as he has to try to stop multiple villains and a rampaging Hulk while undergoing some nasty mutations.

The Lego set might not provide much in the way of spoilers, but it’s sure to be popular with Spider-Man-loving Lego collectors. Those fans are so passionate that they caused chaos at retailers in September, clearing out stores selling Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse mini-figures before the set’s official release date.
