The 13th and final episode of Snowball Earth ended with an announcement on Friday that a second season is in production. The official website also revealed an announcement promo and celebratory visual (pictured above).
Produced by Studio KAI, the first season premiered on April 3. Crunchyroll simulcasted the anime with subtitles in multiple languages and an English dub.
The anime series adapts Yuuhirou Tsujitsugu’s action sci-fi manga, which began in Gekkan! Spirits magazine in January 2021. Shogakukan published the 11th volume on April 1. Snowball Earth has a cumulative 800,000 copies of its volumes in print.
VIZ Media licensed the manga for English release in June 2023 and published the eighth volume on February 17, with the ninth volume scheduled for an August 18 release.
