Fable Standard Edition

After a handful of delays, preorders are now officially open for Fable. A release date of February 23, 2027, was revealed during the latest Xbox Showcase, alongside a new trailer giving fans a closer look at the world of Albion. It’s been well over a decade since we’ve seen a new game in the franchise (Fable III launched way back in 2010), and fans eager to secure their copy of the open-world adventure can preorder the game now. Three versions of the game are now up for preorder, and if you reserve a copy in advance, you’ll unlock a few in-game goodies. It’ll also be available as part of Xbox Game Pass–you can pick up a 1-Month Membership for $23.
Fable Preorder Bonuses
Preorder any version of Fable to unlock the Questionably Heroic Chicken Suit cosmetic outfit and a handful of in-game gifts. Those gifts include a Wild Flower Bouquet, a Toy Chicken, and a Scones & Jam Picnic Hamper. It’s unclear how exactly these will aid you on your adventure–but that Chicken Suit recalls the iconic “Chicken Chaser” title players could earn in the original Fable.
While these bonuses are included with preorders of any version, those who preorder the digital Premium Edition or Collector’s Edition will also unlock 5-day early access to the full game starting February 13.
Fable Standard Edition

The standard edition of Fable gets you the base game and any eligible preorder bonuses. Physical PS5 and Xbox edition preorders are available at Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop. Digital preorders are also available on console and PC.
Fable Premium Edition

Fable is also available in a digital-only Premium Edition that includes the base game, preorders bonuses, and the following extra content.

Fable is an open-world, action-RPG heavily driven by player choice. You’ll get to choose exactly how you interact with the citizens of Albion and tackle your laundry list of quests–and your actions will shape the world around you. Its iconic sense of dark humor appears to be fully intact, though, unlike past entries, your appearance will no longer change based on your actions. Originally slated for a 2025 release, we should (finally) be able to get our hands on the game next year.
