The Talos Principle 3 is bringing the Serious Sam studio’s acclaimed philosophical puzzle series to an end, and it’s coming soon to PC and PS5

Since its debut in 2014, The Talos Principle has slowly established itself as one of modern puzzle gaming’s most intriguing series, and developer Croteam has now confirmed it’s returning for one last instalment. The Talos Principle 3 is coming soon to PC and PS5, but we don’t yet know when.

Croteam, also known for the Serious Sam series, calls The Talos Principle 3 the “epic grand finale of [the] philosophical puzzle saga”, promising to take players on a “cosmic journey across more than a dozen worlds” full of new challenges.

It’s also confirmed to be a direct continuation of the story threads and ideas planted in its two predecessors. “As if awakening from a troubled sleep,” Croteam explains, “you find yourself in a strange, contradictory world of crumbling temples and abandoned science outposts: the Anomaly, the only place in the universe where the laws of physics don’t work as they should. Your memories are fragmented, but you know you came here for a reason.”

Further details are yet to be shared, but the ominous teaser trailer accompanying Croteam’s announcement focuses on the idea of death and finality. “The real world goes on and on, but a story must have a clear beginning, middle, and end,” the studio adds. “And so the Talos Principle, a story Croteam worked on for more than a decade, must also come to an end.”

The Talos Principle 3 is “coming soon”, but for now, Croteam and publisher Devolver are pointing longtime fans and newcomers in the direction of The Talos Principle Reawakened, the 2025 reimagining of the original game.

Eurogamer’s four-star review of 2023’s The Talos Principle 2 called it “an ambitious sequel that explores bold, if unambiguous territory in its philosophical robot puzzling”.
