Switch 2 – Nintendo’s fastest selling console to date – has now sold a total of 19.86m units. These sales figures were shared as part of the company’s latest financial results, which ended in March.

However, while the console has sold well – in February of this year, the company revealed its Switch 2 had sold 17.37m units as of 31st December 2025, which means it has shifted another 2.49m consoles in the time since – Nintendo has lowered its forecast for the upcoming financial year.

“For Nintendo Switch 2, sales were more concentrated in the launch year in comparison to previous hardware systems,” Nintendo said in its latest financial report. “Reflecting strong launch-year sales and price revisions, we expect FY27 sales units to decline year-on-year.

“Even so, we believe this represents a solid level of adoption for Nintendo Switch 2 in its second year after launch.”

Nintendo still expects to shift 16.50m units in the coming financial year, however, and that is even with the recently announced Switch 2 price rise. These newly-announced revisions will impact consumers in the US, Canada, Japan and Europe, and come into effect later this year.

In terms of Switch 2 game sales, Mario Kart World has now sold 14.70m units, while Donkey Kong Bananza has sold 4.52m units (it is worth noting Mario Kart World was included in a Switch 2 bundle, likely bolstering its sales). Meanwhile, since its release in March, Pokémon Pokopia has sold over 4m units.

As for the future, upcoming first-party Switch 2 titles include the newly-announced Star Fox, as well as Splatoon Raiders and Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. On the third-party docket, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is set to arrive on Switch 2 next week, on 12th May.
