In April 2026, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that a Battlefield movie was in the works and that it could kick off a bidding war given the renewed interest in video game movies. According to that report, Apple and Sony were pitched on the movie, and subsequent reporting from The Wrap revealed that Warner Bros. Discovery, Amazon MGM Studios, Universal, and Netflix were also in the mix to buy the package.
The Battlefield movie package is expected to sell for a lot of money, though no numbers or ranges were mentioned.
